pop art

Pop art is a really cool and funky type of art. This is my favirote type of art and I love making up my own pop art drawing in class. Most pop art artists dont really use dull colours like black and grey they normally use bright colours like green, yellow, blue, red, orange and many more bright colours. I really like this pop art piece because it is very colouful and stands out to you when you go past it because of the bright colours,  and the picture they used is really unusual and funny so that also grabs my attention.

Facts about Pop Art

Pop art was made around the 1950's just after the war to try and lighten every ones spirits because of the war that took place. Pop art is a pice of art which was created around certain themes like nature,celebraties and unusaul things like lips and guitars. Some pop art is the same picture but put into 4 different boxes and each box has a different colour to make the picture stand out.
One of the main pop art artists is Andy Warhol who is very famous for screen prints of celebraties and soup cans.

Another famous pop artist is Roy Lichtenstein who is famous for editing famous comic strips.
